IMPORTANT NOTE: During this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, all in-person Project PEACE programs have been suspended. We are providing resources in the form of 7 minute audio clips that address some of the stressful thoughts encountered by nurses during this time of high stress. These "7 minutes to Sanity" audio clips can be found on our media page. We will continue to add audio clips to our library on a regular basis.
Project PEACE offers in-person programs for nurses and other healthcare workers. These programs are designed to enable participants to directly address the difficult emotions that often come up in their work environment. They empower participants to take responsibility for their own reactions to events and give them effective tools in dealing these emotional triggers.
Our programs take a multifaceted approach. They are part training, experiential and supportive.
Training: Our programs give training in specific processes and techniques that help participants deal with emotional triggers. A foundational tool taught in our programs is Inquiry-Based Stress Reduction (IBSR) technique, also known as The Work of Byron Katie. This tool is a step-by-step process of questioning stressful beliefs which results in a clearer, more flexible mind and a more peaceful and open heart.
Experiential: In our programs, we don’t just tell participants about tools to use. We walk them through them. The programs are designed to give direct, hands on experience of working with emotional triggers.
Supportive: We create a safe environment in our programs where participants can open up about their challenges and difficulties at both work and personal life. Part of our aim in Project PEACE is to create a healthy, supportive work life for healthcare workers and that starts in our programs
We offer programs in varying formats.
4- hour mini programs: These are short mini programs that give the very basics of what we have to offer.
8-hour standard program: This program is our primary offering and very popular with participants. It consists of a one day or two half day immersion.
16-hour deluxe program: This program is offered over several weeks usually in 4 hour blocks. This program is designed to create positive and significant change within a work place culture.
